PSD to 3D Pro
Do you have enough animation experience to know what it takes to get from your Photoshop image to a workable 3D object? Save hours, keep control, and conserve quality with one-click PSD to 3D Pro plugin that has built-in pen and vector path tools so you can draw your own meshes. It has dramatically improved our workflow and may just do the same for yours! *Not compatible with MacOS
Quick Tip #1
For makers with more 3D experience use PSD to 3D Pro to draw your own 3D meshes in Photoshop. Using the pen tool in Photoshop draw closed paths and turn them into vector masks. Import your saved Photoshop file with PSD to 3D Pro in Maya and select the Vector Layer. With more control over the mesh generation you can use the modeling features in Maya to get more 3D.
Quick Tip #2
Once you have got the hang of bringing your 2D Photoshop layers into Maya the next step for characters would be rigging. We have been using an open source rigging system for Maya called MGear for our 2.5D characters making the animation stage way more manageable.
