Quick Tip #1

PSDtoFBX offers some fantastic features that will speed up your PSD to 3D workflow and optimize your file sizes. We now support the use of Billboard and Vector mode that can either use cropped PNG's or automatically generated texture Atlases based on custom groups. This version does not currently support the linear mesh mode used in PSD to 3D Pro (Maya version).

Quick Tip #2

Using delaunay triangulation, one of the most exciting mesh generation modes available today, combine your hand drawn vector meshes with your favourite 3D application to create curved surfaces for more flexible assets. This is very similar to the mesh algorithm found in After Effects Puppet Tool or Photoshop’s Puppet Mesh tool only with cleaner edge loops.

Quick Tip #3

For makers with more 3D experience use PSD to FBX to draw your own 3D meshes in Photoshop. Using the pen tool in Photoshop draw closed paths and turn them into vector masks. Import your saved Photoshop file in PSD to FBX standalone application and select the Vector Layer. With more control over the mesh generation you can use the modeling features in any DCC you choose to get more 3D.
