Artist Louis Meilleur Roy writes about how he created this piece The Corner . "I used the industrial pack with its brick, ladder and windows brushes to make this one. The rest is a combination of the texture brush and the cloud brushes. The composition of this piece is dominated by the empty roads which leads the eye in two diametrically opposed directions creating a strong sense of emptiness. Walking the streets of my hometown of Montreal, I’m always impressed by the silence and calm of some neighborhoods. There’s a great satisfaction in going through a deserted, but densely inhabited area. I must admit that the clouds are straight out of an Eugène Boudin painting, because when stealing skies, you might as well do it from the best! Managing the level of details in a piece like this is always the hardest part and I feel some areas could have been simplified, but overall the composition and the colours satisfies me enough and helps me pursue my work of finding the most interesting way to frame Montreal’s distinctive style."
