Amaqqut Nunaat: The Country of Wolves

Produced by Taqqut Productions Inc., Amaqqut Nunaat is a traditional Inuit story about two brothers who find themselves lost on broken sea ice while out hunting for seal. They drift in the darkness for many days, until the ice they are on settles on the shore of a strange and distant land. The hunters begin to look for landmarks or people to help them find their way back home.

In the next decade, Nunavut will lose its remaining elders – those who have experienced a traditional Northern life. Because much of Inuit knowledge and culture is transmitted orally, with few written accounts existing, it is a critical time for this rich and unique place.
