Inspiration

The last time we used these clouds, was for a scene in Argentina in the 1950's. In the 15 minutes of animation we did for EyeSteel Films' award-winning documentary about fusion energy "Let There Be Light", these clouds crowded the airspace of Argentine scientist Ronald Richter as he experimented with the possibilites of nuclear fusion. An insightful documentary about an alternative energy source, we worked on the animated segments that told the back stories of scientist from Russia, Argentina, France, Germany, and the U.S. Much to our surprise we even got nominated for a Cinema Eye Honours, Outstanding Achievement in Graphic Design or Animation for our work on this film!

Quick Tip

The Median effect can be used to drastically alter the appearance of the clouds. Transform them from realistic wisps to painterly dabs by simply adding the effect and tuning the radius until you get a look you want.
