Inspiration
In this pixel art sequence of the short "What Are You TOXIN About?" we used the field grass everywhere! We scaled it way down in After Effects, added a "Mosaic" filter and enabled "Sharp Colors" to make it fit seamlessly into the pixel world. It is hard to see in a still image, but if you watch the animated version you will see the grass in action. With a little creativity, these assets can go a long way.
Quick Tip
For a classic and custom look, we like to use the animated alpha channel of the grass with hand painted textures and drop its frame rate to 8 or 12 frames per second.
