Inspiration

In our short "Giant Bear" we follow a lone Inuit hunter on a quest that leads him to the last living Nanurluk -- an iceberg-sized polar bear. In the epic battle for survival that follows, the Canadian northern landscape is beautiful and bright and white with snow -- as much a formidable character in this story as human or beast.

Quick Tip

The best way to use this snow in a tracking shot, moving sideways through a scene, is to parent your camera and the layered snow to a null object that you animate along the X axis. Now your camera can have wiggle and dolly in and out of the scene without the snow feeling like a cheap overlay.
