Snow 005

We are from Canada and we know what real falling snow looks like. It can be hard to make and the plugins are expensive. Save yourself $500 and sprinkle these into your next project. Shovels not included.

Inspiration

From large, softly falling flakes to sharp, icy wisps, snow plays a leading role in our short "Nanurluk" ("Giant Bear") where a lone Hunter encounters his enormous foe -- the last polar bear on earth. In the "kill or be killed" battle that ensues, this Inuit legend explores and challenges the relationship between humans and their environment.

Quick Tip

The best way to use this snow in a tracking shot, moving sideways through a scene, is to parent your camera and the layered snow to a null object that you animate along the X axis. Now your camera can have wiggle and dolly in and out of the scene without the snow feeling like a cheap overlay.
